Gay Christian Devotion

Psalm 129 (King James Version)

1Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
2Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
3The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
4The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
6Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
7Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
8Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

Reflection

Think about what the psalmist say, if he were writing to gay people.

1Many a time since I knew I was gay they afflicted me. May gay Israel say:
2Many a time since I knew I was gay they afflicted me: yet they have not prevailed against me.
3They beat my back, until my back was a mass of furrows.
4The Lord is righteous: he cut me free from wicked homophobic churches.
5Let the wicked churches that hate gay Zion be defeated.
6Let wicked homophobic churches be as grass on the top of roofs,
7Useless as a crop, a frustration to those wanting spiritual food.
8Let those who drive by refuse to bless homophobic, wicked churches.
