Gay Christian Devotion
Psalm 127
(King James Version)
1Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Reflection
All children, queer children included, are a heritage of God. They are gifts from God to the world. God's queer children are gifts that enrich the world, and they should be treasured as gifts. God calls the parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and intersex children to celebrate their children as true gifts from God.
Those that build houses of worship are laboring in vain, if they do not build on the Lord. You can easily tell when a house of worship is not built on the Lord. The Lord builds upon grace, not bitter rejection. Any house of worship built on rejecting God's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered children is not built on God. To labor in a church that does not accept gay people, is to work in vain. There is no point in working in a church that does not extend God's grace.
