Proverbs 5:22-23

Proverbs 5:22-23 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. ²³He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray (KJV).

Reflection

Adam Clarke, a respected conservative commentator, notes to the effect that people who follow sexual pleasure think they can give them up any time they want. But it is not that easy.

Adam Clark also comments that a few actions can become habit. The commentator makes a very good point. When a habit becomes a life style, a long-established pattern of living, giving up the habit is difficult. A person can end up feeling like sin has handcuffed them, and freedom is now gone.
