Proverbs 3:9-10

Proverbs 3:9-10 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: ¹⁰So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine (KJV).

Reflection

We are asked to honor God with our riches and our increase. Not very many gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trans-identified people are rich. The stereotype that all gay people are rich is false. Poverty is common in the queer community.

While the queer community might not be affluent, the queer community is rich in other ways. We may be rich in time, talent, intelligence, sensitivity, and concern. We can donate some of our time, talents, intelligence, sensitivity, and caring to God and to humanity.
