Proverbs 3:7-8 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones(KJV).
Reflection
Our thoughts can make us feel discomfort. When we should on our souls, by constantly reminding ourselves of all of the spiritual and religious things we should be doing, we do not feel good. Musting our souls is making long lists of things we must do to make God or people love us. Musting inflicts pain on our souls. The list of shoulds and musts for many queer people includes "must be straight." When we must and should on our hearts and souls, we do not experience the depth of God's love. Turning away from the evil of self-hate, and respecting God enough to respect yourself, the creation and temple of God, is medicine to your heart and soul.
