Proverbs 1:29-33 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. 33But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil (KJV).
Reflection
In the book of Proverbs, we see a linking between God, and knowledge and wisdom. Those who reject the wisdom and knowledge that points toward the Lord and who reject the knowledge and wisdom that comes from God, can only depend on their own devices, their own strategies.
Those who are receptive to wisdom and knowledge from God do not fall prey to the spiritual schemes of the ignorant. Those gays, lesbians, and bisexuals who are remain deeply rooted in God’s word are not tricked into believing God hates them and that God will cast them into hell. They understand God loves them. By studying the Bible and being open to wisdom and knowledge, gay and bisexual people do not fear the destruction the Bible says is reserved for the evil.
