Proverbs 17:6 Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents[a] are the pride of their children (KJV).

Reflection

Children and grandchildren are prized. Even when having children or grandchildren does not feel like a blessing, they are a gift from God. Children can give parents and grandparents a sense of purpose in life, and a sense that their lives have meaning.

Some gay, bisexual, and trans-identified people have no children or grandchildren. Their time and energies were poured into the lives of other people's children and grandchildren. Their influence may have made a profound impact on the lives of children, teenagers, and young adults. The children and young people in GLBT lives are a source of blessing. And God blesses the time and energy queer people invest in other people's children.
