Proverbs 15:5-7 A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent 6In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. 7The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so (KJV).

Modern translations may use the word discipline instead of instruction. The objective of discipline is not punishment. Discipline is meant to teach or to instruct. This text cannot be used to support violent or abusive parental discipline.
The pain of words of criticism and rejection can injure us to the point where it is difficult to remain calm and to be polite when our parents injure us with what they want to teach us about sexuality. We can reject our parents' teaching regarding sexuality, without despising everything our parents taught us. Refusing to agree with incorrect teaching is not a sign of disrespect for our parents, as long as we disagree in a polite manner.
